LS Bottlebrush – Better John (Callistemon viminalis ‘Better John’) is a compact, evergreen shrub bred from the popular Little John dwarf bottlebrush, featuring attractive blue-green foliage with soft silvery new growth and bright red, brush-like flowers in spring and summer. Well suited to Central Florida’s heat and humidity, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil with moderate watering during establishment, and requires little maintenance once established. With its tidy, mounding habit, Better John works beautifully as a border plant, foundation accent, small hedge, or specimen in mixed shrub beds, adding texture and seasonal color interest. Mature plants typically reach about 2–3 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide (0.6–1.2 m tall × 0.6–0.9 m wide depending on conditions).
